Wonderful Wet Winter Wedding at Woodies! ~ Emma & Tom ~ 22nd Jan 2010

Thursday 21st January was a lovely bright sunny crisp day, on Friday it poured down – but did this dampen Emma & Tom’s spirits?  Not at all – I lent them my bride & groom golf umbrellas and Emma even agreed to get some funky wellies for their portrait shoot in priory park.  What a fab couple!!  It was a very laid back wedding, just how it should be, no stresses or worries just excitment and smiles all round.  Emma described her big day as feeling a bit like Christmas day when she was younger – except she knew what her present was, marrying Tom!  After the lovely ceremony in Chichester registry office we had a quick stroll round the corner through Priory Park, where I managed to snap a few portrait shots, to Woodies Wine Bar & Brasserie (an old haunt of mine!) – great location for their reception.  The restaurant looked amazing and the food was delicious – the fantastic cake was Montezumas’ first ever Wedding Cake – a field they are branching into and I’m sure will be very successful at.  I really enjoyed Emma & Tom’s wedding day and capturing their special moments for them and with over 400 shots I’ve managed to whittle it down to my favourite 76!  Enjoy…

Beautiful Bumps ~ West Sussex Maternity Photographer

Being pregnant is such a wonderful and beautiful thing and what better way to celebrate your womb days than having a special photo shoot of you & your bump…?  I have to thank Sintija for letting me publish these photos on my blog as I know how personal & precious they are to her and her family.  I was so honoured to be their photographer and capture these memories for them….

Baby A ~ Newborn Photography ~ West Sussex Photographer

I do love my hobby job, especially when I get to meet such gorgeous babies as this little one!  Fiona and her husband were bought “A Year in the Life of” package from my website as a gift for the birth of their beautiful baby girl.  Which is great as it means I get to see her again in 6 months time and around her first birthday too!  Then I will put together an album of Mum & Dad’s favourite shots as a momento of their baby’s first year.  These few photos were from her newborn photo shoot – I always allow plenty of time for these as usually the little ones dictate how the session will go ~ whether they want feeding or not, cuddles with mum & dad or even to be rocked off to sleep which works just as well for photos as hopefully you will see…  I certainly didn’t mind as I got to snap a few shots of the family cats too :)

If you would like a newborn or family photoshoot please give me a ring to discuss – 01243 587517, I can bring the cute hats and props for baby in a basket shots!

Erica & Simon's Christmas Wedding ~ Lulworth Castle ~ 19.12.09

Stunning location, wonderful weather (albeit a little chilly!), a beautiful bride and handsome groom – what more could any photographer want?!!  Erica & Simon were very laid back and wanted lots of natural shots with just a couple of group ones – just as well as it was so cold standing on the steps outside!  I was really taken aback by the location – somewhere I must return to with the family and explore the cove and area further.  The castle itself is a dream wedding venue, so magical inside – especially at Christmas time with the 20 ft tree!  Everything was perfect and I had so much fun snapping away all day.  Thank you for chosing me to photograph your special day Erica & Simon, here’s wishing you many many happy years together.

Here are just a few of my favourites from the day – (click on each one to see it larger…)

Here come the girls! Best friends photo shoot ~ Bognor Regis Photographer

He he he what a giggle!  Louise booked me for a photo shoot with her two best buddies after she met me at her school reunion party.  I thought then she was very photogenic and I still think it now.  They wanted the “studio look” so I took my new backdrop and lights with me to one of the girl’s homes and they brought their outfit changes and glasses of (pretend!) wine and we had a good couple of hours of mucking about!  They had some great ideas to the sort of shots they wanted and I tried a few of my own ideas too.  Studio work is all new to me but very enjoyable and I look forward to many more shoots like this and maybe even bringing the backdrop along to weddings and functions in the future!

Family Photo shoot ~ Halnaker Windmill ~ West Sussex Photographer

What strange weather we had for this shoot…  At the start it poured with rain and we sheltered under the tree tunnel.  Then there was a magnificent rainbow arching over the windmill as we headed on up the hill and as the sun shone down on us we literally baked as we were dressed for November!  The kids had great fun though and managed to get covered in mud – luckily I took some photos before this happened.  Lisa and her brother wanted a nice photo for their dad of his grandchildren all together.  They chose the windmill as a location as their dad used to look out onto the the mill from where he worked.  With such cute kids it’s hard to chose a favourite so here’s a little selection from our walk up the hill…

I like to make hay even when the sun doesn't shine! ~ Family photo shoot Arundel Park ~ West Sussex Photographer

It’s a long story this one but I love it so I’m going to have to share…. I have a little business sign outside my house that is mostly covered by the wisteria that grows up the wall and unbeknown to me our postman had jotted down my website and shown it to his wife to be!  So a couple of months back I had an enquiry from a lady saying they were planning a winter wedding for 2012 (!!) and would I like to be their photographer?  Then we got talking and she asked for a family photo shoot in the meantime for the two of them and their soon to be 2 year old daughter.  I mentioned my youngest would be 2 in December as well and it turns out they have the same birth date and we were on the same ward in hospital!!  Small world hey?!  So we got together on Sunday and as soon as we saw a quick gap in the clouds we rushed to Arundel Park and I took a few photos of the 3 of them before the heavens opened on us yet again!  What a gorgeous family and we had so much fun – my son had to come along as well so he could have a little play with their daughter afterwards, what a couple of cuties!  Here are some of my favourites….

Going from Strength to Strength according to Your Sussex Wedding Magazine!

I am so excited as there is a an aricle about lil’ old me in the Dec/Jan issue of  Your Sussex Wedding magazine.  The title is “Going from Strength to Strength” and it’s all about how I started up and caught the wedding bug and how pleased they are for me that the business is going well after such a short time.  Yipppeeee!

(Niki & Gary if you see this, you’re both famous now!)

Family Photos / Maternity Photo shoot ~ Arundel Park ~ West Sussex Photographer

Rosie wanted to book me to take all sorts of photos for her, some couple shots of herself & her partner for his birthday, some with her gorgeous son, some all together and some on her own capturing the beauty of pregnancy.  Oh & also a couple of her partner with his brother who was over from Canada!  I was honoured to do so as not only did they once work in multimedia so know all about lighting and picture taking themselves but Rosie is also a brilliant local artist and had a good idea in her mind of what they wanted.  Such a lovely family - the photo shoot was very relaxed and we all had a wonderful time, first at home capturing the more intimate moments then out and about in Arundel Park – I just love this place for Autumn shoots!  Rosie is having trouble chosing as we did spend a good couple of hours together and I took quite a few shots (oops!).  There is never any pressure or hurry from me for you to pick your prints though – there is no viewing session with a hard sales pitch, you can pick in your own time, sitting on your own sofa, from your own private online gallery…

Here are some of my favourites:

Those last three shots were special to Rosie as she has painted that scene before with the trees in the distance…

BRCC Class of '92 School Reunion ~ Charity Event Bognor Regis Photography

What a night!  Julie & Vicki had arranged such a fantastic party for their old school friends and it was all in aid of St Wilfred’s Hospice which I’m sure everyone would agree is a very worthy cause.  I was Julie’s wedding photographer earlier in the year and when she asked me if I could pop along and take a few photos I was more than happy to.  With charity events I will almost always offer my time for free and a % of any sales to the chosen charity as well.  I set myself up with a white sheet as a backdrop and a reflector + my camera and flash gun and gathered a few victims!  Hopefully you’ll agree they could have been “proper” studio shots even though the photos did degenerate a bit as the evening went on – not quality wise I hasten to add, just the content of the pics!! (hee hee)  Well done Vicki & Jules – hope you managed to raise lots of money and I hope to be able to add to that…
